If a good night's sleep is a distant memory for you, or if perhaps you've been splurging on the junk food (we don't blame you), you're going to be needing some concealer for those insufferable dark rings and blemishes. Or, perhaps you just want to cover up a birthmark or need some help with targeting acne. The problem is, with what feels like a million and one products on the market, how do you choose? Well, do not fret, we've got you covered! (See what we did there?)
Check out the top six favourites that we reach for to bring us back to life for those endless zoom meetings, social soirees, and park yoga sessions.
1. The Body Shop - Matte Clay Concealer
Conceal skin imperfections throughout the day with this 100% vegan Matte Clay Concealer. Though lightweight, this concealer is full-coverage, enriched with purifying tea tree oil and leaves a breathable, yet full-coverage matte finish. This one is great for acne as tea-tree oil is a natural antiseptic, anti-inflammatory product and could help to heal your skin in the process.
£7 - The Body Shop, St David's.
2. Pixi - Pat Away Concealing Base
Concentrated yet skin-like, plus elastic and long-wearing, this little product packs powerful antioxidant protection, with extra flocking on the applicator for added softness and ease in blending. Plus, Pixi have recently reviewed their product and colour names to celebrate diversity and inclusion. They recently removed the colour 'Nude' which has changed to 'Almond'. Bonus points from us!
£16 - M&S, St David's.
3. NYX Professional Makeup - Can't Stop Concealer
This lovely product is great value and has a great range of 24 highly pigmented hues! The lightweight liquid doesn't transfer and has three major complexion musts covered. You can use the blendable, matte formula to camouflage imperfections, brighten up your face and contour those features to perfection. A very affordable and impressive option indeed!
£8 - Superdrug Beauty Studio, St David's.
4. Collection - Lasting Perfection Concealer
A cult favourite among makeup artists and amateurs alike, this concealer truly offers 16-hour wear and now comes with an expanded range of skin-matching shades. The vegan formula is buildable, and successful covers and conceals blemishes and dark circles a treat! Though light in consistency, the coverage is high but just to note it does lack in a dewy appearance. Overall an amazing price for the coverage and length of wear.
£4.19 - Boots, St David's.
5. Bobbi Brown - Creamy Corrector
This concealer is most certainly a wake-up call for tired eyes. The correctors are carefully toned to neutralise under-eye darkness and are designed to be used before Bobbi Brown's Creamy Concealer, though we've found it to be thick enough to use alone. The formula is long-wearing and brightens dark circles with quick, just-right coverage that’s easy to blend. The consistency gives a glowy brightness to under the eyes, with a freshly moisturised appearance. You may need some setting powder if you do use a lot of moisturiser underneath, however.
£20.50 - John Lewis, St David's.
6. NARS - Radiant Creamy Concealer
Coveted by artists for its luxurious texture and luminous finish, this concealer evens skin with lightweight medium to high buildable coverage. The hydration is another perk of this product, and contains illuminating and light-diffusing technology to soften lines and pores. Free of parabens, alcohol and synthetic fragrances this is also easy on the skin, as well as the eyes! Just don't expect it to cover the heaviest of blemishes.
£24 - John Lewis, St David's.
