Sizzling summer beauty buys

Replenish your make up bag with bronzing products, vibrant colours, natural-looking cosmetics and a new perfume

For a golden glow

Get sun-kissed skin with Clarins’ limited edition Bronzing Compacts, £32 each. There are two shades: Sunset Glow for a delicate colour or Sunrise Glow for a warmer effect. These beautifully decorated compacts house mirrors, and the bronzer has an Anti-Pollution Complex, with extracts of white tea and nipplewort (a species of flowering plant in the sunflower family). Also worth squeezing into your make up bag are the Water Lip Stains, £19 each, and Waterproof Eye Pencil in Blue Lily, £18 and SOS Primer, £27. All available at Boots.

Body highlighter

Charlotte Tilbury’s Supermodel Body, £65, is a hydrating, tinted body shimmer that gives legs a luminous glow and promises to leave skin looking firmer and more toned. It contains caffeine and organic aloe vera, among other magic ingredients. Apply it down the centre of your limbs and to your décolletage. Find it in John Lewis’s beauty hall.

New summer scent

Paris-Riviera, available from the Chanel counter in Debenhams, “is a floral and luminous fragrance that reflects the joyful, sunny spirit of the Côte d’Azur in the 1920s,” says its creator, Chanel’s in house perfumer Olivier Polge. Woven with Sicilian citrus and white flowers, this eau de toilette (125ml, £99) is reminiscent of travels to the Med.

Summery skincare

Grab a panier at our L’Occitane shop and load up with new make up and face masks, inspired by Provence’s vibrant colours and sweetest tastes. Just dropped: lip scrubs, £14, and tinted balms, £20, Fruity Lipsticks (one named ‘Provence Sunset’, £18) and face scrubs and masks, £29 each, for serious ‘me’ time.

Waterproof foundation

St David’s M·A·C store has launched Pro Longwear Nourishing Waterproof Foundation, £28 – now in eight new shades. Transfer-resistant, it glides on, offering medium-to-full coverage in a comfortable oil-free formula. Lasting 36 hours, it’s ideal for holidays because it’ll take you from beach bar to nightclub, making sure you look your best from dusk ’til dawn.

High-impact eyes

New on the Bobbi Brown counter at John Lewis, are five Essentials eyeshadow palettes poised to Brighten, Blend & Define eyes. Each palette, costing £32, contains Matte, Metallic, Shimmer and Chrome Metal shadows. Complementary shades and contrasting textures make application fool-proof.

Concealer that works

IT Cosmetics from Boots is relaunching a Bye Bye Under Eye Concealer, £25, at the end of July 2019. Amazingly, it comes in 24 shades to suit every skin tone. Water-resistant and giving full coverage, it’s long-lasting and gets rid of dark circles in a flash.
