Wahaca vegan and veggie menu
The new year brings with it new things to try and be inspired by - and our Mexican restaurant Wahaca is kicking off a positively plant-powered 2021 with a delicious menu that sees vegan-friendly dishes take centre stage. Debuting dishes that have been created using the freshest ingredients from some of the most sustainable suppliers around, the menu also sees Wahaca introduce vegan ‘cheese’ options to its menu for the first time, meaning that those following a plant-based diet can enjoy more of its vibrant Mexican street food than ever before...
Cheese has long been an irresistible ingredient in some of the best-loved Mexican street food dishes, from tasty tacos to oozing quesadillas - and now there’s no reason for vegans to miss out when they need their street food fix. Wahaca has partnered with Violife to create vegan Nachos (£5.85), a Black bean & cheese quesadilla (£5.85) – both made using Violife’s award winning vegan cheese. Diners will be able to add Violife cheese to their Burritos too!

A delicious, comforting dish for the colder months, the Organic squash & crumbled feta tostadas’ (£5.50) warm puree of Riverford Organic Crown Prince squash is seasoned with soft, silky onions and mojo de ajo and topped with pomegranate seeds that deliver zingy bursts of freshness. Inspired by the classic Mexican dish of queso fundido, the Grilled Devon crab gratin (£6.95) sees a mix of brown crab meat, squash and melted cheese sauce that’s grilled until bubbling hot, topped with crispy breadcrumbs and served with white crab meat, fresh lime and salsa macha.

It’s not all plant-based though. The new Grilled halloumi taco (£5.95) is Wahaca’s play on a taco al pastor, perhaps the most popular taco in central Mexico. The salty bite of the halloumi pairs perfectly with a sweet pineapple salsa, accompanied by dressed slaw and an achiote marinade and served in two soft corn tortillas, for a taste combination that’s out of this world.

We can keep serving up the taste of Wahaca-to-go for Takeaway, Click & Collect and Deliveroo or get in touch with the restaurant here.
