We hope that your visit to St David's is a pleasant experience but recognise that for some guests with disabilities, it can be daunting and can often cause anxiety and frustration in navigating a destination such as ours. We are here to help!
If you can’t find the information you need please don’t hesitate to contact us.
As part of our partnership with AccessAble who currently survey the centre, we are committed to ensuring that accessibility is a focus. To read the details and go to the AccessAble website please click here >>
You'll find our lifts at Eastside, as well as near Costa Coffee on the lower level and Aunty Anne's on the upper level.
You'll find our toilet facilities located at Eastside on both the upper and lower levels. They include changing facilities for families and adapted facilities for disabled users, including a Changing Places facility.
St David’s has taken guidance from Colostomy UK to provide stoma-friendly toilet facilities. Four of our accessible toilets have been updated to include the correct Stoma Facilities. These can be found on our ground floor and upper-level accessible toilets. Each toilet now includes wall hooks, a colostomy bag shelf, a wall mirror and the correct disposal facilities.
St David’s offers a warm welcome to all our guests and it’s important to us that everyone can enjoy the shopping, dining and leisure available. For some children and adults, who have hidden disabilities, this can be more challenging. That’s why we’ve introduced two sensory backpacks which are available to hire free of charge from our Guest Services desk by Bershka and Stradivarius.
These sensory backpacks are particularly suited to our autistic guests and are packed full of items to assist children and adults. They include:
We will be asking users of the sensory backpacks to return them after use to our Guest Services desk.
If you'd like to find out more details in advance of your visit, or for further terms of use, please contact our Guest Services team on 02920 367660 or by emailing InformationStDavids@landsec.com.
The Information Desk located on the Upper Level between Bershka and Stradivarius provides free Hidden Disability Lanyards to guests requiring additional assistance while visiting the centre, our stores and restaurants. Subject to availability.
St David’s is committed to delivering a more inclusive retail experience for all our guests and tackling some of the barriers faced by autistic people and their families, including social isolation and a lack of understanding from the wider public.
For example, St David’s provide a weekly quiet hour every Tuesday, between 2pm-3pm. During these quiet hours, St David’s will reduce the amount of music all the centre and in our stores.
We've put together a handy guide for autistic guests to help make your trip to St David's Cardiff more comfortable. It's full of useful information about toilets, lift areas, quiet periods and more. You can check it out here.
SignLive is a Video Relay Service that allows our deaf and hard of hearing guests to connect with an online BSL Interpreter during opening hours. The BSL interpreter will communicate with the member of staff you would like to connect with and sign their responses back to you. You can access this service by scanning our SignLive QR code, which can be found around the centre, or by speaking with a member of our staff. You can also access SignLive via the app or a web browser.
