Enhance the romance at St David's! Whether you're planning a dinner date or memorable meal with your mates, we're home to an incredible selection of restaurants with dreamy decor and delicious dishes. The Ivy Cardiff is a real showstopper, thanks to its stunning Art Deco details, comfy seating and eclectic menus. With everything from classic fish and chips and shepherd's pie to vegan plates and mouth-watering desserts, not to mention an extensive drinks menu, this is a date spot that ticks every box. Or try its sister site The Ivy Asia, for a fusion of Eastern flavours and stunning floral backdrops.
For an intimate setting with a touch of dark glam, book a table for two at Gaucho. Argentinian steak is the mainstay here, although there are plenty of other options too, ranging from seafood to spatchcock chicken; flavourful salad to creamy mushroom tagliatelle.
Giggling Squid is another shoo-in for date night (or mates night). A lush, botanical interior sets the mood for amazing Thai food, ranging from the classics like green curry and Pad Thai to lesser-known gems, such as salt and pepper squid and golden money bags (and plenty more besides). All the dishes are beautifully presented, making for an all-round aesthetically pleasing and delicious experience.
And then there's Wahaca, serving up gorgeous grub inspired by the bold flavours of Mexican street food. Tuck into tacos with a broad choice of fillings, including excellent vegan options (we recommend the plantain!), or share a bit of everything with 'platitos', small plates packing plenty of punch. Wrap it up with chocolate-dipped churros or spiced pineapple for dessert.

Frankie & Benny's has an entire mini menu for 'little eaters', including crispy fish fingers, chicken or vegan nuggets and piccolo pasta, as well as a couple of scrummy baby food options for children seven months and up. TGI Fridays is another excellent family destination, with American-style hotdogs, cheeseburgers, fried chicken and more for everybody to tuck into. Plus, to sweeten the deal further, kids eat free with every adult main meal!
There's a ton of flavour to savour at wagamama, from piping-hot ramen and mountainous donburi to crunchy, colourful salads. Most vegans know by now how strong wagamama's plant-based offering is, alongside its popular chicken, pork and prawn dishes. Dough-votees are spoilt for choice with a robust selection of Italian-style menus at Ciliegino, PizzaExpress, Prezzo and Zizzi, most of which also boast an impressively broad list of gluten-free pizza and pasta. Pop into Costa, Caffè Nero or Starbucks, where you can get your fill of hot and cold drinks, sandwiches, toasties and snacks. For specialty Finca El Corozo coffee hailing from El Salvador, don't miss KIN+ILK, where rich flavours meet warm hospitality.
Craving a sip of something sweet while you wander? Bubble CiTea serves tasty, Insta-worthy bubble tea in a variety of flavours, so if you haven't tried this popular Taiwanese beverage yet, it's a great place to start. Go milky or go fruity; top with tapioca pearls or brown sugar bubbles; and throw in some extra jelly chunks for good measure! You'll find a new favourite in no time.
Greggs is another crowd favourite and THE place to get your sausage roll fix, while Barburrito invites guests to craft their dream burrito by selecting everything from the base to the filling and tasty extras to top it all off.
