Director: Simon Stone’s

Cast: Billie Piper

The incredible Billie Piper (Penny Dreadful, Great Britain) returns in her Evening Standard Best Actress award-winning role.

A young woman is driven to the unthinkable by her desperate desire to have a child in Simon Stone’s radical production of Lorca’s achingly powerful masterpiece. The unmissable theatre phenomenon sold out at the Young Vic and critics call it ‘an extraordinary theatrical triumph’ (The Times) and ‘stunning, searing, unmissable’ (Mail on Sunday). Billie Piper’s lead performance is described as ‘spellbinding’ (The Evening Standard), ‘astonishing’ (iNews) and ‘devastatingly powerful’ (The Daily Telegraph).

Set in contemporary London, Piper’s portrayal of a woman in her thirties desperate to conceive builds with elemental force to a staggering, shocking, climax. Please note that this broadcast does not have an interval.

Renowned tenor Jonas Kaufmann makes his role debut in a new production of Verdi's passionate opera.

Often cited as his greatest and most mature work, Verdi's penultimate opera is a brilliant interpretation of Shakespeare's great tragedy of jealousy, deception and murder. It provides a powerful and poignant musical language for the story of Venetian general Otello, who descends into madness after being tricked by envious Iago into believing that his bride Desdemona is having an affair. Its many highlights include Otello and Desdemona's rapturous love duet and Desdemona's haunting 'Willow Song'. Drawing on the full forces of the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House, the Royal Opera Chorus and a stellar line-up of principal singers, this new production by Olivier Award-winning director Keith Warner sees world famous tenor Jonas Kaufmann make his role debut as Otello. Soprano Maria Agresta will be his Desdemona and baritone Ludovic Tezier his nemesis, Iago. The conductor is Royal Opera Music Director Antonio Pappano.

Director: Emmanuel Plasson

The Royal Ballet's anniversary celebrations conclude with a tribute to the great Frederick Ashton

The exceptional series of performances to mark the Royal Ballet's 70 years at the Royal Opera House draws to a close with a mixed programme highlighting the creative vision of founding choreographer Frederick Ashton. Choreographed to music by Mendelssohn, the one-act ballet 'The Dream' is a skilfully abridged version of Shakespeare's riotously comic A Midsummer Night's Dream. Set to Franck's brooding 'Variations Symphoniques', 'Symphonic Variations' is both historically and artistically significant. This remarkable celebration of pure movement was Ashton's first post-WWII work and one of the first to be performed on the ROH's huge main stage in 1946. Finally, 'Marguerite and Armand' is inspired by the 19th century novel 'La Dame aux Camelias', which also formed the basis of Verdi's 'La Traviata', and was created by Ashton specifically for Margot Fonteyn and Rudolf Nureyev in 1963.

Cast: Sonakshi Sinha, Kanan Gill, Purab Kohli

Noor (Sonakshi Sinha) is impatient, intelligent, impetuous and on the hunt for love in a city that is frustrating but also her addiction. She and her two best friends, Saad a young entrepreneurial restaurateur, who shuttles between London and Mumbai, and Zaara a with-it Parsi who plays DJ gigs at various nightclubs in the city, form the core of a coming-of-age story set in Mumbai, the ever-changing metropolis that is home to more than 21 million people.

Noor lives with her father and an absentee maid, Malti. She works at the Daily News, a local TV Channel, where she is relegated to covering socialite events, bakery openings and other banal fodder. Frustrated, with her job and her life in general, she is on the lookout for meaning. Be it in the form of an intelligent and handsome man, or a story that has some depth and substance.

In search of a story, Noor is genuinely faced with a challenge of righting a wrong and doing her best to fix a situation that she has placed herself in.

But does she have the courage to stand by her words?

The film captures her journey, her relationships, her friendships, her choices and many dilemmas as she comes of age, and develops a fresh perspective on life, her city and her best friend Saad, proving that sometimes everything you are looking for in life, may very well be sitting right before you!

Cast: Alec Baldwin, Warren Beatty, Annette Bening, Haley Bennett, Candice Bergen, Matthew Broderick, Dabney Coleman, Lily Collins, Steve Coogan, Alden Ehrenreich, Taissa Farmiga, Ed Harris, Megan Hilty, Oliver Platt and Martin Sheen

An aspiring young actress (Lily Collins) and her ambitious young driver (Alden Ehrenreich) struggle hopefully with the absurd eccentricities of the wildly unpredictable billionaire (Warren Beatty) whom they work for.

It’s Hollywood, 1958. Small town beauty queen and devout Baptist virgin Marla Mabrey (Collins), under contract to the infamous Howard Hughes (Beatty), arrives in Los Angeles. At the airport, she meets her driver Frank Forbes (Ehrenreich), who is engaged to be married to his 7th grade sweetheart and is a deeply religious Methodist. Their instant attraction not only puts their religious convictions to the test, but also defies Hughes’ #1 rule: no employee is allowed to have any relationship whatsoever with a contract actress. Hughes’ behaviour intersects with Marla and Frank in very separate and unexpected ways, and as they are drawn deeper into his bizarre world, their values are challenged and their lives are changed.

Cast: Daniel Kaluuya, Allison Williams, Bradley Whitford, Caleb Landry Jones, Stephen Root, Lakeith Stanfield, Catherine Keener

In Universal Pictures’ Get Out, a speculative thriller from Blumhouse (producers of The Visit, Insidious series and The Gift) and the mind of Jordan Peele, when a young African-American man visits his white girlfriend’s family estate, he becomes ensnared in a more sinister real reason for the invitation.

Now that Chris (Daniel Kaluuya, Sicario) and his girlfriend, Rose (Allison Williams, Girls), have reached the meet-the-parents milestone of dating, she invites him for a weekend getaway upstate with Missy (Catherine Keener, Captain Phillips) and Dean (Bradley Whitford, The Cabin in the Woods).

At first, Chris reads the family’s overly accommodating behavior as nervous attempts to deal with their daughter’s interracial relationship, but as the weekend progresses, a series of increasingly disturbing discoveries lead him to a truth that he could have never imagined.

Equal parts gripping thriller and provocative commentary, Get Out is written and directed by Peele (Key and Peele) and produced by Blumhouse’s Jason Blum, as well as Sean McKittrick (Donnie Darko, The Box), Edward H. Hamm Jr. (The Box, Bad Words) and Peele. The film also stars Caleb Landry Jones (X-Men series), Stephen Root (No Country for Old Men), Milton “Lil Rel” Howery (The Carmichael Show), Betty Gabriel (The Purge: Election Year), Marcus Henderson (Pete’s Dragon) and Lakeith Stanfield (Straight Outta Compton).
